Espoo, Finland – 2 December 2025 – DANLERS Ltd., Casambi Technologies and Calumino proudly announce the full integration of Calumino’s intelligent privacy-safe thermal-sensing technology into the Casambi wireless lighting control ecosystem enabled through DANLERS’ plug & play controllers.
This announcement follows the landmark announcement in 2024, when Casambi and Calumino announced their partnership to bring thermal sensing to mass-market smart building applications. With that foundational collaboration now matured, this breakthrough, privacy-safe solution is now commercially available to integrators and end-users in a ready-to-deploy Casambi solution through DANLERS’ hardware.
From Vision to Today’s Deployment
‘Back in May 2024, Casambi published an article titled “Calumino brings thermal sensing to mass market applications”, introducing Calumino’s mission to democratise thermal intelligence and enable new levels of occupancy and environmental insight by integrating the technology into the Casambi wireless lighting mesh.
That vision has now become reality.
Thanks to the integration work completed this year:
- The Calumino intelligent thermal sensor is now embedded into DANLERS’ plug & play plug & play Casambi-compatible controllers.
- The solution has been tested, commissioned and commercially validated, transforming last year’s vision into a deployable, market-ready solution.
- Leveraging Calumino’s sensing intelligence, Casambi’s broad ecosystem and DANLERS’ deep hardware expertise, the three companies now deliver an end-to-end solution that unlocks unlimited capabilities for smart buildings.
What the Integrated Solution Delivers
Privacy-First, Smart Thermal Sensing
The Calumino sensor is a low-resolution thermal sensor that is privacy non-intrusive and includes embedded edge analytics for human detection and counting. This enables data-driven actionable insights for HVAC and lighting related energy optimisation, space utilisation,facility management and more in hospitality, office space and healthcare
Native Casambi People Counter
The integration now includes a native Casambi-supported people counter, enabling occupancy and count information to be shared with connected building management systems or used for local integration with HVAC control.
Multi-Zone Monitoring with New 1+8 Functionality
With the new 1+8 presence/absence functionality, a single Calumino sensor can manage and individually configure up to eight zones while still controlling the total area as one. This allows one sensor and one commissioning process to cover multiple occupancy segments, reducing installation time and cost, with all settings easily managed within the Casambi app.
Plug & Play with Casambi Ecosystem
DANLERS’ controllers with “Calumino Inside” are now available to be deployed within the Casambi wireless mesh. System integrators can install one controller, commission via the Casambi App, and immediately benefit from thermal sensing, occupancy data and lighting control in a unified workflow.

The new DANLERS controllers with Calumino Inside are available now through DANLERS’ distribution network and can be seamlessly integrated into any Casambi network via the Casambi App.
